Honfleur

Deauville is famous as a major equine centre as well as being a popular holiday destination.  Horse racing and polo dominate the scene for much of the year. It is also famous for its casino and for hosting major film industry events.

It came to prominence around the end of the 19th Century as an elegant Paris retreat and was built on the banks of the River Touques. On the opposite side of the River is the charming and historic town of Trouville which is worthy of a visit in its own right. 

The medieval port town of Honfleur is close by and the business centre of Le Havre is just 25 minutes away by road. So, for business or pleasure, Deauville is the perfect starting point for your visit to Normandy. 

Flight time from Shoreham (Brighton City) to Deauville is just 50 minutes and with frequent fast trains to Shoreham, it will be possible to reach this popular Normandy destination from central London in about two and a half hours.
